FRIENDS lost apt MOVED IN w/us NOW losing OUR house
 | 07 Jan 04 -- Three years and one month ago, my life
was great. My husband (fiancé at that time) and I
both had great paying jobs, working together at a
major US airline making very good money. All of our
bills were paid on time and I was even paying our
house payment a month ahead of schedule. |
 | Two weeks before Christmas that year, I was fired
from my job because I missed too many days of work due
to illness. Life since then has been difficult for
both of us: depression for me over losing my job,
repeated visits to doctors for my problems with my
reproductive system, doctor bills since I lost my
health insurance when I lost my job, the stress of
planning our wedding knowing we didn’t have the
money to spend on it, the loss of my husband’s job
after the tragedy in September of 2001, extreme pay
cuts when we each finally found jobs and more. |
 | I was managing a neighborhood bar for nearly 8
months. I met a lot of great people while I worked
there, but the co-manager was a real jerk. He made my
life and my husband’s a living hell on a daily
basis. I finally had enough of his bad attitude and
quit a month ago. Before I quit though, I became
really good friends with one of the guys that ran the
karaoke shows there. One night after we closed the
bar, he and I were talking. He said he and his family
were about to lose their apartment. I told him not to
worry. I would talk to my husband, but we had plenty
of room for him, his wife, their 2 kids and the baby
that was on the way at our house. They’ve been
living with us for a couple months now and it’s
working out really well. They’re saving money to be
able to get their own place when the baby comes in
March. The problem now is my husband and I are about
to lose our house because of our previous financial
problems. Even though our financial situation is
better now, we got so far behind with our bills, I
come to you to ask for any assistance you may be able
to give us. We would greatfully accept any donations
you would like to make, but we would really like to
arrange a loan for any or all of the following
situations. |
 | Scenario #1: Since our house payment couldn’t be
paid every month, in full, on time, the mortgage
company has started the foreclosure process. We
thought we could get enough money together to get the
loan reinstated, but we’re down to the wire and we’ve
been unsuccessful to this point. We would like to
request a loan of $60,000 to get us out of the
foreclosure process, pay off all of our credit cards,
pay off the back taxes, and consolidate all of our
payments into one monthly bill. Of course, we would
like favorable terms, but we’re willing to accept
almost any terms at this point. We’re desperate to
get this loan as soon as possible, preferably within
the next week to 10 days. |
 | Scenario #2: One of the vehicles we’ve chosen to
achieve our financial independence (hopefully in the
near future) is real estate investing. The problem
here is that we don’t have the money to invest right
now. We’re trying to buy my husband’s childhood
home from his dad. For the past year and a half, we
have been managing it as a rental property for his
dad, but we would like it to be our own. The house is
worth $120,000. We receive approximately $800 per
month from Section 8 housing on about the third of the
month like clockwork. In order to buy this house, we
need a loan of $105,000. Again, we would like to
settle this as soon as possible, but this situation
isn’t quite as dire as the first scenario. |
 | Scenario #3: This situation is the least of our
worries, but we still hope someone is willing to help
us with it. Since I’m currently, not working outside
the home, I’m selling items (primarily sports cards,
sports memorabilia, and anything we don’t need for
survival around the house) on eBay.com (user ID
maoneal614). Business is going well, but I have
already outgrown my office. We have a huge unfinished
basement that we would like to finish and turn into
our new office with a photography area, storage space
for the large inventory, and packaging & shipping
areas, as well as space for desks and computers for
everyone in the house. With the newly designed space,
I will be able to streamline the entire sales process,
keeping my customers happier and sales more
profitable. For this project, we would like to request
a loan of $20,000. This is not a dire situation, but
we would like to begin construction soon. |
 | We thank you for taking the time to read through
this. If you can help us with any or all of these
situations, we would greatly appreciate it. |
