Help a retired cop and loving
grandpa fulfill his last wish please
 |
Hi my name is Tanya Mullikin
and i am writing this to try and fulfill my fathers
last wish.My father is 73 yrs. old and has had a very
full and hard life.He was 16 yrs.old when he started
his first family, and was 17 yrs old when he went into
the service. He was in the Korean war as a Navy
Corpsman attached to the Marine Corps. When he came
back and got honorably discharged he went in to law
enforcement and became a police officer in
Kansas,Missouri,and Louisiana in the
50's,60's,70's,and early 80's.He was wounded and
almost paralyzed as a cop and has several awards for
heroism and valor in both the military and law
enforcement. When he retired from law enforcement
retirement benefits were very small nothing like they
are now.In the early 80's he lost vision in his right
eye and had an operation on it and tried to save but
they couldnt. My father worked at other jobs after that
and started his second family very late in life which
is where i come in.In 1992 he lost vision in his left
eye as well and had to have two operations on it
within a 30 day period. He was a Mason in the Shrine
also but had to give that up to feed his family and
pay bills. In 1993 my mother was hospitalized for a
week for breast problems and by that time the medical
bills were outrageous and this just made them
worse. They wound up having to go bankrupcy to get rid
of the medical bills. In 1994 my brother broke his
ankle and that also made it hard on my parents, because
again more medical bills. They struggled to get every
thing caught up and paid and still get what us kids
wanted. Then in 1998,my brother Davidwho was only 20
yrs.old drownded and died that was very hard on all of
us and still is,but following that in december of that
year my father was diagnosed with cancer we thought
that everything was over and thought the worse of
it.He had to go through chemo and radiation therapy
and then went in for surgery, and so far it is taken
care of,but he still has to go to the doctor every 6
mos. for test. The bills are so big and
unbelieveable. He is now 73 yrs. old and blind in one
eye been through cancer lost a son and cant find
anyone who will hire someone like him.I would like to
recieve enough money to be able to fullfill his last
wish before something happens to him. That wish is to
move his family and house out to the country and pay
off the house and bills, with some left over to be able
to build a shop to make wood products and sell them so
my mother dosent have to worry after he is gone on how
to pay for everything.I would like to see my father
very happy when he goes and with no worries and the
family cant help him because we are all in a bind this
would make me very happy also.I hope there are people
out there willing to help my father with this wish.
Thank You,
God Bless
Tanya Mullikin
